The Maryland Renewable Energy Alliance (MD-REA) is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting Maryland's renewable energy goals by promoting holistic and scalable solutions. We believe the clean energy transition must benefit all communities equitably, removing barriers and creating opportunities for underrepresented groups. Through collaboration, advocacy, and education, MD-REA aims to ensure that every step toward a renewable energy future is also a step towards a more inclusive and equitable Maryland.
At MD-REA, we're fans of all forms of renewable energy– we believe that solar, battery storage, wind, hydropower, geothermal, electric vehicles, and energy efficiency initiatives are all a critical part of reaching our state’s goals.
Fostering collaboration is key to integrating renewable energy into our grid. We partner with state and local leaders, environmental groups, community members, and diverse stakeholders across the renewable energy space to work on solutions to create a sustainable energy future.
With the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act and Maryland’s permanent community solar program, we believe it is key to engage with stakeholders, connecting them with employment and training opportunities in clean energy, funding for home electrification upgrades, and demystifying what the transition to renewable energy means for them.
